Job description

Role Overview: We are looking for a Product Strategy / Product Owner - Financial Intelligence who can act as the financial domain SME and also own product requirements, roadmap inputs, backlog prioritization, and product development execution. This role is ideal for someone with around 8-12 years of experience who has worked in financial crime, AML, transaction monitoring, banking compliance, regulatory technology, or financial intelligence solutions, and can translate domain knowledge into practical product capabilities. Key Responsibilities: Financial Domain SME

  • Act as the internal SME for financial intelligence, AML, transaction monitoring, financial crime investigation, and regulatory workflows.
  • Understand how FIUs, regulators, banks, and investigation agencies detect, investigate, and act on suspicious financial activity.
  • Translate domain concepts into product workflows, data models, alerts, dashboards, reports, risk indicators, and investigation capabilities.
  • Ensure product features are aligned with real-world financial crime investigation and compliance needs. Product Strategy & Market Research
  • Conduct market research across FIUs, financial regulators, central banks, AML teams, financial crime investigation agencies, and related technology ecosystems.
  • Track trends in AML analytics, financial intelligence platforms, sanctions compliance, regulatory reporting, graph analytics, AI-assisted investigations, and case management.
  • Study competing and adjacent platforms to identify market gaps, product differentiators, and capability priorities.
  • Convert market insights into product themes, roadmap inputs, feature priorities, and capability recommendations.
  • Support leadership in defining product direction for ClearTrail’s Financial Intelligence offerings. Requirement Creation & Product Ownership
  • Own product requirement documents, user stories, feature specifications, workflow definitions, and acceptance criteria.
  • Convert financial domain needs into clear engineering-ready requirements.
  • Define user journeys for analysts, investigators, supervisors, administrators, compliance teams, and agency leadership.
  • Maintain and prioritize the product backlog in alignment with business goals, customer needs, domain relevance, and engineering capacity.
  • Validate requirements with business stakeholders, domain experts, presales, delivery, and engineering teams.
  • Ensure every major product capability has clear business value, domain relevance, and acceptance criteria. Financial Intelligence Use Cases
  • Suspicious Transaction Report analysis and AML alert investigation.
  • Transaction monitoring, cross-border fund flow analysis, and trade-based money laundering detection.
  • Terror financing detection, sanctions screening, entity resolution, and risk scoring.
  • Network and behavioral analysis, case management workflows, and AI-assisted financial crime detection. Product Development Execution
  • Drive product development from concept to release in collaboration with engineering, data science, UX, QA, and delivery teams.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, product demos, release planning, and acceptance reviews.
  • Clarify requirements, resolve functional ambiguities, and make day-to-day prioritization decisions during development.
  • Ensure development teams clearly understand financial crime workflows, data flows, user journeys, and expected outcomes.
  • Track product execution progress and ensure timely delivery of committed features and releases. Customer, Sales & RFP Support
  • Support sales and presales teams with domain and product capability inputs for customer discussions, demos, RFPs, and proposals.
  • Convert customer feedback and RFP requirements into structured product gaps, reusable capabilities, and roadmap items.
  • Help create demo flows, capability matrices, product narratives, and solution positioning material.
  • Participate in customer interactions where required to understand domain needs, operational workflows, and product expectations.
  • Strengthen product credibility by explaining how ClearTrail’s capabilities address real financial crime investigation use cases. Product Documentation & Enablement
  • Create and maintain product documentation, feature notes, release notes, demo scripts, workflow notes, and internal enablement material.
  • Work with presales and marketing teams to prepare product collateral, capability briefs, and solution explainers.
  • Ensure product messaging remains consistent across product, sales, presales, delivery, and engineering teams.
  • Train internal teams on financial intelligence workflows and product capabilities. Desired Experience:
  • 8-12 years of experience in financial crime, AML, banking compliance, regulatory technology, financial intelligence, product management, business analysis, or solution consulting.
  • Strong domain exposure in AML / transaction monitoring, financial crime investigation, STR analysis, banking compliance operations, FIU / regulator-facing solutions, sanctions screening, fraud / risk analytics, or financial crime case management.
  • Experience working on technology products or platforms for BFSI, regulators, government agencies, or investigation teams.
  • Ability to translate financial domain workflows into product requirements and engineering-ready specifications.
  • Good understanding of agile product development, backlog management, user stories, acceptance criteria, and release planning.
  • Familiarity with AML / financial crime technology platforms such as NICE Actimize, SAS AML, Oracle Financial Crime & Compliance, FICO TONBELLER, or similar platforms will be an advantage.
  • Exposure to AI/ML analytics, graph/network analysis, entity resolution, risk scoring, anomaly detection, or case management will be desirable. Candidate Profile:

  • Ability to connect market needs, customer pain points, investigation workflows, and technology capabilities.
  • Excellent skill in writing clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and product documents.
  • Analytical mindset with strong market research and competitive analysis capability.
  • Comfortable working with senior business stakeholders as well as engineering teams.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to operate independently with high ownership and execution discipline.
  • Curiosity and interest in financial crime, intelligence workflows, and AI-driven investigation platforms.
