At BetterCV Ltd. ("BetterCV", "we", "our", "us"), we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect your personal information when you use our website and services.
1. What data we collect
We collect information you provide directly (name, email, resume content), data generated when you use our services (templates chosen, AI prompts), and technical data automatically collected (IP address, browser type, cookies). We never sell your data to third parties.
2. How we use your data
We use your data to provide and improve our services, personalise your experience, send transactional and marketing emails (you can unsubscribe at any time), and comply with legal obligations.
3. Data storage & security
Your data is stored on secure servers in the EU (AWS Frankfurt). We use AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit. We are SOC 2 Type II certified and conduct regular penetration tests.
4. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. You can export all your data from your account settings. To request erasure, contact privacy@bettercv.com. We respond within 30 days.
5. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication, analytics cookies (including Google Analytics with IP anonymisation), and marketing cookies. You can manage your preferences via our Cookie Settings panel.
6. Third-party services
We use Stripe for payments (they never share card data with us), Google Analytics for usage insights, and Intercom for support chat. Each third party has its own privacy policy governing their processing.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you by email and via an in-app banner at least 30 days before any material change takes effect.
