Job description

This position is for Product Sales Manager, and it should NOT be confused with territory sales jobs. This position of a PRODUCT SALES MANAGER for IVD Kits (Molecular Diagnostics / RealTime PCR) is expected to lead commercial growth strategy and support sales team to maximize revenue across our core product portfolios i.e. molecular diagnostics kit, related reagents and consumables mainly Real-Time PCR testing, NGS based testing, Fluorescence In-Situ Hybridization (FISH), Rapid card testing etc. for infectious diseases, oncology and other human genetic conditions to microbiology labs, infection control labs, molecular biology, cytogenetics, pathology, and clinical diagnostic laboratories and hospitals. Role & responsibilities

  • Strategic Product Sales & Business Development
  • Establish quarterly and annual quotas aligned with national and regional-level corporate growth targets for assigned product segment. Oversee lead-to-order and order-to-cash” cycles. Build customer reference programs. Formulate go-to-market strategies to maximize market share of the assigned products, pricing structures, and gross margins. Utilizing existing customer relations, make creative product bundle offers to penetrate the products among non-users.
  • Customer Retention: Maintain high retention rates among existing users of assigned products, generate leads through exiting users and retain high-volume diagnostic lab accounts.
  • Conduct weekly coaching sessions and performance reviews to drive a high-accountability sales culture.
  • Identify training gaps and deploy customized sales enablement playbooks.
  • Analysis competitor value propositions to refine product positioning with products USPs and exploit market gaps. Market Penetration & Lead Generation
  • Identify new prospects across hospitals, reference laboratories, and standalone diagnostic labs and chains for introducing assigned products.
  • Deliver accurate revenue forecasts and market trend assessments to senior leadership.
  • Design product promotion initiatives (region specific) in close collaboration with the regional sales and marketing team.
  • Organize scientific events like Continuous Medical Education (CME) programs and product presentations
  • Conduct cold call to outreach and execute rigorous territory mapping to expand market presence. Technical Support Coordination
  • Liaise with Application Specialists to ensure smooth product demonstrations, instrument installations, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Address client complaints quickly to minimize laboratory downtime and preserve customer satisfaction for assigned products. Stakeholder & Relationship Management
  • Cultivate long-term relationships with Pathologists, Researchers, Lab Directors, Lab Technicians, Oncologists, and Infectious Disease Specialists.
  • Engage Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to secure clinical endorsements and increase brand equity.
  • Feedback: Share field insights with product marketing to refine pricing and positioning.
  • Oversee channel partners and local distributors to ensure streamlined supply chain management and inventory planning specific to assigned products. Preferred candidate profile
  • Technical Domain Knowledge with Performance: Solid understanding of molecular workflows (e.g., PCR, qPCR, Next-Generation Sequencing etc.) The capacity to grasp and clearly communicate intricate molecular workflows, assay sensitivities, and genomic red flags.
  • B2B & Institutional Selling: Proven ability to navigate complex procurement cycles, multi-layered decision-making bodies, and strict budget approvals in hospital or corporate lab networks.
  • Negotiation & Closing: Skill in handling commercial objections, expertise in structuring multi-year reagent rental or capital purchase contracts. Relationship Building: Excellent interpersonal skills to establish trust with scientific personnel who prioritize product reliability and batch-to-batch consistency.
  • Time Management: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or a related field (strongly preferred to ensure technical credibility with laboratory staff). Preferred master’s degree or an MBA in Marketing or Healthcare Management
  • Experience: Out of total experience, at least 2–5 years of proven sales experience in the IVD (In-Vitro Diagnostics) industry especially Molecular Diagnostics segment.
  • Travel: Readiness to travel extensively within the assigned territory (often up to 60–70% of the time) for face to-face client visits.
