For more details, please see https://ebclearning.com/ Role Overview As a ML Engineer at EBC, you will play a important role in building the next generation of AI-powered legal research tools. Your mission is to contribute for the development of intelligent, conversational legal search experiences by leveraging retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), fine-tuned LLMs, and real-time vector-based search technologies. You’ll collaborate closely with the engineering teams to ingest and structure legal data, build AI models, and integrate them into user-facing applications within the EBC Reader platform. Key Responsibilities: 1. AI-Based Search & Retrieval

• Build and optimize RAG-based pipelines using LLMs like GPT-4 , LLaMA etc.
• Fine-tune large language models for domain-specific (legal) use cases.
• Improve search ranking and result quality through continuous feedback loops and testing.
• Contribute in design and implementation of AI-driven search systems for legal content 2. Data Processing & Vector Indexing
• Create pipelines to ingest, clean, chunk, and vectorize complex legal documents (case law, statutes, treatises).
• Maintain indexes in vector databases (e.g., Qdrant, FAISS, Pinecone).
• Support weekly data updates to ensure relevancy of legal content. 3. Model Deployment & Infrastructure
• Deploy and maintain production-ready ML models using cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS).
• Develop REST APIs (Fast API or Flask) for seamless integration into frontend apps.
• Monitor model latency, reliability, and scalability in real-time. 4. Product Collaboration
• Work closely with product managers, backend developers, and UX teams to ship AI-powered features.
• Participate in technical reviews and influence system design decisions around AI integration.
• Implement observability tools to track model behaviour, performance, and telemetry data. Tech Stack
• ML/NLP: Python, TensorFlow/ PyTorch, Hugging Face models and APIs
• Vector Search: Qdrant , FAISS, Pinecone, Elastic search
• Deployment: AWS Services, like Bedrock , Personalise etc
• Data Tools: Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn , Matplot lib ,spaCy, NLTK
• APIs: REST APIs built with Fast API or Flask Required Skills & Experience
• 2+ years in machine learning, NLP, or AI-powered search systems
• Strong understanding of embeddings, vector search, and RAG architectures
• Proven experience deploying and maintaining ML models in production environments
• Experience with legal, document-heavy datasets a strong plus
• Experience with product search ranking algorithms, personalization engines, or content-based filtering.
• Good understanding of recommendation systems (collaborative filtering, matrix factorization, hybrid models).
• Experience in deploying models using Fast API, Flask, or Lambda functions Nice to Have
• Background in legal tech or contract/document analysis
• Experience with product search ranking algorithms, personalization engines, or content-based filtering.
• Familiarity with vector databases (e.g., Qdrant ,FAISS, Pinecone, OpenSearch) for similarity search.
• Experience in deploying models using Fast API, Flask, or Lambda functions.
• Familiarity with AWS Bedrock, SageMaker
• Prior work in eCommerce, digital publishing, or online content platforms.
