Role Overview
- We are hiring a hands‑on Senior Cloud Engineer to manage and optimize our multi‑cloud infrastructure across AWS (primary) and Azure (secondary).
- This role requires a strong systems administration foundation, deep troubleshooting capability, and ownership of production environments.
- You will be responsible for maintaining system reliability, enforcing security best practices, optimizing cloud spend (FinOps), and strengthening monitoring and observability using Datadog. Required Qualifications
- 8-10 years of overall IT experience.
- Minimum 3+ years of hands‑on experience in both AWS and Azure.
- Strong Linux and Windows Server administration expertise.
- Solid experience with IAM, patch management, and cloud security policies.
- Proven experience with Datadog implementation and monitoring.
- Demonstrated FinOps and cloud cost optimization experience.
- Strong troubleshooting mindset with root cause analysis capability.
- Excellent verbal communication skills. Key Responsibilities
- Multi‑Cloud Operations & System Administration
- Manage and support production workloads across AWS and Azure.
- Administer Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, Amazon Linux) and Windows Server environments.Perform disk management, service configuration, user access control, and system hardening.
- Troubleshoot complex OS‑level and infrastructure issues using logs and debugging tools.
- Work with AWS AMIs and Azure VM Images.
- FinOps & Cost Optimization
- Monitor and optimize cloud spend across AWS and Azure.
- Implement rightsizing strategies and eliminate unused resources.
- Manage Reserved Instances and Savings Plans.
- Use AWS Cost Explorer and Azure Cost Management to generate reports and insights.
- Drive tagging governance and budget enforcement practices.
- Security, IAM & Patch Management
- Manage IAM roles, security groups, and Azure NSGs following least‑privilege principles.
- Own patch management lifecycle using:
- AWS Systems Manager (SSM)
- Azure Automation Update Management
- Ensure compliance with security policies and operational standards.
- Backup & Disaster Recovery
- Implement and validate backup strategies using:
- AWS Backup
- Azure Recovery Services Vault
- Support disaster recovery planning and testing.
- Ensure RPO/RTO compliance requirements are met.
- Monitoring & Observability
- Lead implementation and tuning of Datadog (agents, dashboards, monitors, APM).
- Reduce alert fatigue through intelligent monitoring configuration.
- Configure and maintain AWS CloudWatch and Azure Monitor.
- Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. Nice to have Qualifications
- Scripting experience (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM).
- Certifications such as:
- AWS SysOps Administrator
- Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
