ob Description The IT Business Analyst, Quality Systems, is responsible for supporting Global Quality with technical aspects of process development as well as associated IT systems and tools.

  • Lead or support the implementation, configuration, and enhancement of Quality IT systems (e.g., CAPA, LIMS, QMS, Document Control, etc.).
  • They must understand corporate business imperatives and IT Strategy to work in partnership with Global Quality on new or existing processes and systems supporting the function.
  • The Business Analyst will assist with the development of business cases for new processes and systems, considering the costs, benefits and risks of development activities.
  • They will also be responsible for requirements management, process development and test execution activities associated with applications development activities on Quality systems globally. This includes selection/installation/configuration of commercially available software or development of custom applications where no suitable alternative exists.
  • Strong familiarity with Quality Management System processes like QA audits, scorecards, calibration, document control, incident management, NCMRs, corrective actions, etc.
  • They are also responsible for Quality data management and integration strategies to ensure cost-effective use of Quality data across the enterprise.
  • Implement and support IT controls aligned with IT Service Management and other internal security policies where applicable.
  • Engage with the software vendor and related support groups to enhance the associated I.T. systems and tools Key Responsibilities
  • Works as a part of the Global Quality team to provide guidance on IT and Business Process Improvement opportunities and initiatives.
  • Understands Global Quality’s key quality and program management initiatives and strategic focus to make recommendations for IT solutions and process improvements that will provide business benefits. Support IT Strategy
  • Determines opportunities for Quality improvement using information technology and advocates these opportunities to the Quality leadership as well as the IT leadership.
  • Assists with development of Quality applications roadmaps to facilitate long range planning and budgeting. Application Development
  • Serves as a super-user admin for Compliant Pro or similar applications for tasks that require more access than the site administrator has.
  • Determines the functional and technical feasibility of proposed IT systems to support Quality processes.
  • Reviews functional and technical aspects of commercial software packages to assess suitability to meet the functions’ needs.
  • Assists with requirements, analysis and process design for custom software development where commercially available alternatives are not suitable.
  • Determines appropriate techniques for data management and integration for strategic systems. Program and Project Governance
  • Serves as a functional staff member for PMO led programs/projects delivering Quality applications
  • Assists in supplier selection and management, especially technical qualification of suppliers.
  • Create specifications (Use Case, Requirements, Training) for systems to meet business requirements. General IT Management
  • Understanding of IT Strategy and Architecture general principles and techniques.
  • Understanding of IT Program and Project Management as well as Application Development general principles and techniques.
  • Assists the Quality Systems Lead with managing third-party vendor relationship, including coordinate of software upgrades, improvements, and vendor provided fixes as required. Key Performance Measures

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in a related discipline, such as Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science or Management or 6 years of relevant professional experience. Master’s degree in relevant discipline is preferred. Experience
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience, preferably as a business analyst, in quality, manufacturing operations, process improvement or information technology related to manufacturing industries (automotive, aerospace, etc.).
  • Experience in quality systems (Six Sigma, TQM, ISO compliance, etc.) and manufacturing operations systems (MES, Shop floor control systems, PLC controls, etc.). Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies and tools (Toyota Production System, Concurrent Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, etc.) preferred.
  • Proven track record of working closely with Business contacts to clearly define business needs, possible solutions and successfully drive the implementation of those solutions. Language Skills
  • English (fluency in reading, writing and speaking); other language skills helpful. Certifications

  • Strong understanding of Quality Management systems.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing systems, tools and processes.
  • Basic financial skills; knows how to use and interpret metrics such as NPV, ROI, and IRR; knows how to develop and interpret IT investment business cases.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of Quality Management Systems processes.
  • Good general business acumen.
  • Relevant technology acumen; familiar with key concepts around data, applications and infrastructure.
  • Strong Process design skills; knows how to apply process analysis and design tools and techniques.
  • Project management skills; ability to multi-task and keep all projects on schedule.

  • Stakeholder management skills; excellent relationships with business stakeholders.
