Lead Data Scientist / ML – Forecasting & Scenario Modelling

Detailed JD: HYBRID Location - Bangalore / Hyderabad / Pune / Kolkata / Gurugram / Mumbai / Chennai Lead Data Scientist / ML – Forecasting & Scenario Modelling About the Role We're looking for a hands-on data scientist & ML engineer to build and scale our data science capability. You'll lead a team that builds forecasting, time-series, scenario and scoring models and takes them all the way to production. What You'll Do

• Manage and grow a team of data scientists and ML engineers through 1:1s, hiring, feedback, and career growth.
• Own the roadmap and deliver ML projects end to end, from POC to production.
• Stay hands-on: write code, review PRs, and jump into production issues.
• Build forecasting, time-series, and scoring models on real-world transactional data.
• Make key technical calls on model architecture, pipelines, and deployment.
• Keep production ML systems reliable, including performance, drift, latency, and cost.
• Partner with product, data, and platform teams to unblock the team's work. What You Need
• 7+ years building ML systems, with 4+ years managing engineers or leading a team.
• Proven experience building forecasting and time-series models, using both statistical approaches (ARIMA, ETS, Prophet) and ML approaches (gradient boosting, deep learning).
• Experience with messy temporal data, such as seasonality, gaps, trend shifts, and irregular patterns.
• Hands-on experience across the full ML lifecycle: data, training, deployment, and monitoring.
• Strong Python, SQL, and ML framework skills (scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow), and comfort in cloud ML environments.
• MLOps experience covering experiment tracking, model registry, CI/CD, and monitoring (ML-flow or similar).
• A track record of shipping ML to production, not just experimenting.
• A clear communicator who can lead people and still ship code. Nice to Have
• Financial services or fintech experience.
• Familiarity with Azure / Microsoft Fabric, ML-flow, Weights & Biases, or similar tools.
• Experience scaling a team through growth. Example Use Cases You'll Work On

• Detecting recurring patterns such as pay cycles and regular bills.
• Identifying seasonal behaviour and trend changes over time.
