Job description
- Job Context We are hiring a motivated and skilled Python Developer to join our backend development team in Chennai. The candidate will be responsible for developing scalable backend applications, REST APIs, database integrations, data processing solutions, and microservices. The ideal candidate should have strong practical experience with Python, Django, Django ORM, PostgreSQL, Pandas, Django REST Framework, REST API development, and microservices architecture. Candidates who can join within 30 days are preferred.
- Job Responsibility
- Develop, maintain, and enhance backend applications using Python and Django.
- Design and develop scalable REST APIs using Django REST Framework.
- Work with PostgreSQL for database design, relationships, queries, and optimization.
- Use Django ORM for efficient database operations.
- Use Pandas for data processing, transformation, cleaning, and analysis when required.
- Develop reusable and modular backend components.
- Implement business logic, validations, authentication, authorization, and error handling.
- Develop backend services following microservices architecture.
- Integrate internal and third-party APIs.
- Test and validate APIs using Postman.
- Troubleshoot and resolve backend and API-related issues.
- Optimize application performance and database queries.
- Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-documented code.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, QA engineers, and other development teams.
- Educational Requirement
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong understanding of programming, databases, and backend development fundamentals.
- Experience Requirement
- 1–3 years of professional experience in Python/backend development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python and Django.
- Good knowledge of Django REST Framework and Django ORM.
- Experience working with PostgreSQL and SQL queries.
- Practical experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Working knowledge of Pandas.
- Experience using Postman for API testing and debugging.
- Understanding of authentication, authorization, HTTP methods, and status codes.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and service-to-service communication.
- Experience with Git and version control.
- Additional Requirement
- Knowledge of FastAPI, Redis, Celery, Docker, AWS, API Gateway, CI/CD, RabbitMQ, or Kafka is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of Python fundamentals and object-oriented programming.
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimize backend applications.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and contribute to existing codebases.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
